I recently worked with David Lowe on running our first ‘Innovation Day’ at the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). It is our take on a design sprint very much influenced by The Fix and What Design Can Do (we are both involved in MoJ running the UK version of No Minor Thing next month, details here). The subject area was around the experience of witnesses appearing in court. David writes here about the day and its format. It was really successful and the feedback from senior policy in MoJ reflected that:
“Thanks all, so grateful for the effort that you all put into making the day such a success. It’s a really innovative piece of work that I am extremely supportive of.” Catherine Hinwood, Deputy Director for Victim and Witness Policy at the Ministry of Justice
Looking forward, you may ask why are we adding to the already crowded pool of design sprint-related events? Well, we know other people are doing it but we can do it too. We don’t want to be competitive, we want to complement and collaborate. There are so many challenging subjects that require this kind of approach and mindset. We want to create a flexible framework and we want to build relationships with people, especially experts, specialists and leaders.
We are interested in education, learning and responsible behaviour.
We are committed to social responsibility and the greater good and that may involve working with the less obvious organisations or corporations. We work on the premise that there is the opportunity for positive change everywhere.
Sectors we would like to work with:
Education
Government
Corporate responsibility
Local government/council
Charities
Police
Schools
Charities
Gov departments
Corporate responsibility units
Socially responsible organisations
Councils
Please do get in touch on Scrum and Kanban.
