Change happens in the gaps. Progress happens in the gaps.
People who will be more suited to/more likely to succeed as the future pours back into us will be those with combinations of adaptable, varied, untitled skills and interests, educational freedom all stemming from/all existing/all at home in the gaps between the recognisable, the labels, the job titles. The people unconcerned with convention or 20th century patterns of adulthood expectation. The people who have forged ahead with what interests them, not what has been attempted to pour into them. The people who have been prepared to scratch in the corners, in the gaps, the people who have been prepared to take risks. People who want to do things not because they are told or have to. These are the people that might be able to save us.
